Meeting Minutes 11.19.12


Minutes, Babysitting Co-op Meeting 11.19.12
(Ginny facilitator/leader Oct-Dec. 2012)

Attendance:  Laura, Celia, Katey D, Kate TT, Abigail, Jen, Ginny
Absent:  Paula
1. Revisited the Guiding Principles of the babysitting co-op:

- Co-op is about economy/community
- Need to educate new members  to clarify expectations of attending meetings

2. Discussed process of officially inviting new members
- Explored next steps to adding new members when voted in, will require updating spreadsheet with new member names

3.  Blogmeister duty, currently Michael, Kate T's hubby Kevin is interested for Jan-July 2013, when Michael completes his term as of January 2013
TO DO: (Michael/Kate/Laura) Discuss arranging training and passing the baton

4. Talked about another go at girls night out/in – suggestion to Jen to try a Doodle poll with a few options for next time (we'd all like to make it!)

5. Bank is high – agreed to Christmas bonus if bank is sufficiently high
TO DO's: Blogmeister, Michael  
à Distribute the points - give everyone 3 points from the bank if bank is over 40 points, reserve 20 points
à Look over numbers in the spreadsheet before distributing points

6. Finding a solution for those who financially cannot afford to attend meetings for the hour required, possibly pitch in to cover sitter costs

- Everyone needs to keep posting sits to boost the economy, build the community 
- Non-use:  Every year, each member allowed 2 months of non-use before getting charged points.  Would be helpful to note to the leader if you are in grace period status for easier tracking of non-use deductions.

Meeting Minutes 9/27/12

Meeting Minutes 9/27/12

Present:  Laura, Jen, Katey, Abigail and Ginny
Absent:  Paula, Celia and Kate 

Last month's meeting was cancelled, so no minutes from August.

We discussed a group discount for leader points to me (Katey) at my
suggestion.  Summer was slow, I've been super lax about my leader
duties, etc.  Doesn't seem fair to take 2 points from everyone.  Maybe
1 point?

There is a surplus of points in the bank - we decided to hold off
deciding what to do about this until more people are in attendance.

We discussed the fall get-together.  Either Laura or I or someone will
send out a Google Doodle poll to agree on a date.  We all agreed that
a picnic gathering at Diana Ross playground in Central Park would be
fun.

We also discussed having the Second Annual Caroling Party at Boulevard
Gardens on December 8th.  Jen said it was ok even though Hannukah
starts that day.  We will include Hannukah songs.

I think that's it. A good time had by all.

Meeting Minutes - May 2012

The below minutes have entries beside them in brackets that report outcomes of decisions made during the meeting.

Attending: Celia, Katey, Ginny, Paula, Abigail, Laura and Kate
Non-attending: Jen (1st miss so points deduction waved)
Faciliatator: Kate

- Discussion on Facilitator and Blogmeister: Term for Facilitator ends at end of June. Katey D. to take over from Kate. Term for Blogmeister ends at end of May. Michael to continue June to January. Laura will then do next term. Kevin Troy to be approached about training for Blogmeister.
[ Kevin is interested in training and taking on Blogmeister in the future ]

- Gathering for Group: Date decided June 9th. Abigail's place as rain back-up. 45th street park as plan.
[ Group met on June 9th in rain location, Abigail's apartment. All families were represented. Excellent time had by all.]

- Recruits: Jen recruited Evelyn. Wondering if that will pan out.
[ Kate and Celia encouraged Tolu Fanning to join. They are gone a lot of the summer but may want to join in early Fall]

- Cleanup of Jan-March: Kate taking that on and to discuss getting a few points from Jen for work.
[ Kate: filed non-use reports, double checked sit reports for the three months, checked meeting attendance and trained Paula on the 30 boxes and sit form on blog]

Meeting Minutes 1-16-12

Minutes from the meeting Mon-Jan 16th

Present-: Jen,Celia, Laura,Kate,Abigail,Ginny,Paula

We welcomed potential new member Paula who has a 5 yr old son Benjamin.
We discussed and assigned upcoming sits for Ginny and Abigail.
I checked in and at this point I believe we are all on Abigail's list and she is on ours.
If this is not the case for you,please let me know and I will help correct that.

We ratified the new idea of having a facilitator rather than president and continuing to have a blogmeister.
I asked if anyone might be interested in learning the blogmeister duties and Kate said she might.
Kate is also set to be the facilitator after I am and then I believe Ginny is lined up.

We discussed the pros/cons of manual override and decided to keep it to 2 sits per year.
We clarified that it means you can choose a specific sitter for your sit. 2x a yr.

I will send out an email to potential new members Morgan and Evelyn and Nellie to see when they can meet us at the Steinway playspace.
I apologize for the delay-been a crazy few weeks.

Finally and most importantly, we need to officially vote on our potential new member Paula.
